1936 MG SA1306

This car was completed at the MG factory in Abingdon, England in December 1936 with originally a black paint scheme. After completion, it was dispatched to Lanes Motors of Melbourne. One of the only 23 to be imported new to Australia, it arrived in March 1937. It was sold new to Miss E. (Betty) Jorneaux of Brighton VIC. with Victorian registration 28-994. It was subsequently sold to Noel Hatton of Sandy Bay, Tasmania. John Drew of Melbourne was the next owner of the car in 1957 & it was used as spares for his other two MG SA's. In 1971, the car was sold to Reg O'Malley of Melbourne who took four years to replace missing parts & make the vehicle road worthy again. The car appeared at the 1976 MGCC National Meet in Davonport. Reg moved to South Australia where it was registered up until 1977. Reg sold the car to John Bowles of Perth, Western Australia. In 1979 the car languished until sold to Graeme King of Northam, Western Australia. In March 2003 again the car recommissioned including a respray in its present Navy Blue/Maroon colour scheme, interior also retrimmed. Purchased in June 2015, the car was then transported to Sydney where final detail work to bring the car back to factory spec, including an original complete tool kit. The car finally registered and back on the road in August 2015.
